You do need.gcc, pip, git, python, and python-devel iirc installed. Cyberkitsune learned that Amazon Linux AMI doesn't have Python 2.7 but 2.6.2 and went through the trouble of supporting 2.6. I'm not going to go into detail, sorry, but the major hiccup I found was that you need to install python 2.7 on your server. I've tried using the AWS EC2 IP for the localip and I've tried using the same EC2 IP with a range for the remoteip, along with changing the remoteip to my own IP address but neither seems to work. The one thing the in the guide I'm unsure about are the local and remote ips.
